Family Photo Outtakes

We spent the Fourth of July at our family cabin, and while we were there, we decided to snap a few pictures. It's such a beautiful place and we were all red-white-and-blue-ified. Oh, and I cut my hair!

Luckily for you, my husband's brother wanted to make sure he made it into a blog post, so he provided some family picture outtakes.

Here's your photography lesson for the day: see how the camera lost focus on us because he jumped into the background? The camera noticed something was moving behind us and changed the focus point to get that marshmallow-on-a-stick man.

So, if crazy things are happening while you are taking taking pictures, make sure the photographer takes the time to re-focus on the subject. Completely let go of the shutter button and refocus, or else the picture will be unusable even without an intruder in the background!

And here's the tractor bucket picture, where the same brother-in-law struck a pose and completely stole our show.

Second photography lesson of the day: if you take a picture in a tractor bucket, either make a purposeful decision who the driver is (for example, we could have my husband driving, and the rest of us in the bucket), or kick the driver out of the picture altogether! (Which would have worked better in this case.)
