Yoto players are an excellent option for screen-free audio for kids - and a great way to add religious listening to your routine! We already have a post that is full of Biblical/Christian content for Yoto cards, but today's post is about Yoto content specifically for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you're looking for LDS content for Yoto Cards, then this post has lots of good audio suggestions for you.
LDS Yoto Content: Music from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Primary Songs
You can access Primary Songbook mp3s here, and click each title individually to open a new page. That page allows you to download them individually by pushing the blue arrow button to the far right on each song you'd like to save. (I wish there was a way to download all, but there doesn't appear to be an option for that.)
This link to Music For Singing Time might be helpful to find some of the most common primary songs your kids are learning.
Youth Music Albums
The church releases about a dozen songs each year that fit into the youth theme. For example, the 2024 Youth Theme is "I Am A Disciple of Christ," and there are 13 songs included in a Youth Theme Album here.
Just download them individually with the down arrow next to each track, and you're ready to make a playlist!
You can view the last 12 years of LDS youth albums on this page. That's a lot of great LDS music you can access for free!
Festival: A Youth Concert
Ready for some Christian worship vibes? The church released a live concert called Festival and it's awesome! Everyone was asked to watch it in August 2024, and all nine tracks are available for download here. My youth-ages kids LOVE having these songs on a Yoto card!
The previous music festivals are available under the Events section of this page: live music festivals.
Older EFY Songs For Youth
The church has put up a selection of Especially for Youth songs over the last 24 years. Click through each individually - there's some really good gems there.
Or, if you already own music on discs then use these directions to rip cds to Yoto cards.
Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square
The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square has been around for a very long time and they have plenty of great albums to show for it.
There's two ways you can get music from the choir formerly known as MOTAB:
1 - Download songs from General Conference at this link.
2 - Rip songs from CDs you own (these are more professional recordings, of course). Get Consider the Lilies here, Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing here, and Teach Me to Walk in the Light here (which has a bunch of primary songs).
LDS Yoto Content: Talks, Stories & Podcasts
Scripture Stories - Radio Series / Podcast
This is a Weekly radio series the church releases, designed to help child know and love stories from the scriptures. Each episode is about 20-25 minutes long, and designed for little ears. They usually start with a song or two, and then have a scripture story retelling.
(I believe the stories are from the illustrated scripture manuals called Scripture Stories.)
Download individual episodes by clicking through these links and finding the story you want:
- Book of Mormon Series (unfortunately this link is broken - I've talked to the church's website people but it isn't fixed yet!)
- New Testament Series
- Doctrine and Covenants Series
General Conference Talks
You can download different MP3 files of general conference talks. So if there are any talks you like that are directed toward kids or youth, you can download those and put them on Yoto cards for your kids! Start here to find the year and session.
Audio Series from the Church
There are a number of audio productions the church has made over the years. Click through to see some of the options!
The Light of Men: a series of radio dramas depicting the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. This isn't a modern as some of the other things the church has put out.
Stories from General Conference: 30 minutes of stories around a single topic - a great way to study by topic instead of by session.
Alexander's Amazing Adventures
This is a fun set of stories that helps children learn the importance of different values through songs and stories. The first episode is free and is about honesty. You can find the rest of the episodes here.
I grew up listening to this series, and I'm so glad I can offer it to my kids now!
Sunbeam Podcast
This is a scripture study podcast for toddlers and preschoolers. It has 10 minute episodes! Preview some episodes here.
If you want to make a podcast card, there is an RSS link on the fair right of the homepage, and you can follow these directions for where to put it in the app.
BYU Devotionals for Youth
You can also download a lot of BYU devotionals for youth online. Go here for a list of talks directed to youth. You can download the talks by pushing the arrow pointing down to the far right of each title.
The Book of Mormon Storybook for Little Saints
this is a collection of 50 stories from theBook of Mormom, by Josh and Sarah Sabey. So no, it's not church-curriculum, but it is a good retelling of stories for primary age children. Each story supports the testimony that God is real and he loves real people.
Get it here: link to Audible download.
If you want to take an Audible purchase and reformat it for Yoto cards, you have to use a third party converter. Read our step by step instructions for Audible To Yoto Conversion here.
Illustrated Book of Mormon Stories - Record yourself!
Consider asking a family member to record scriptures stories for your kids.
Our Grandma spent some time recording the entire Illustrated Book of Mormon Stories for my kids, and then gifted it to each set of grandchildren with the hardcover book. So sweet and something we all treasure.
This post has helpful tips for recording yourself and others for MYO Cards. Send it to your reader!
LDS Music for Primary Children
If you're looking for a LDS Yoto Card for kids, I would absolutely start with Primary music from the church's Primary Songbook. Here's the link: Primary Songbook. After that, I would start looking for specific songs your children are familiar with and add them to a Yoto Playlist.
Shawna Edwards
Your kids have definitely sung these songs in Primary: The Miracle, Choose Him Again, Because, and more!
You can purchase downloadable playlists of Shawna Edwards songs directly from her site! She has different options available. You can't go wrong making Shawna Edwards music into an LDS Yoto Card.
Angie Killian
This is our other favorite LDS artist that your kids probably hear in primary - you can download individual songs, or a playlist of 20 songs here. This is my 12-year-old's favorite LDS Yoto Card; it has My Own Sacred Grove, If I Were There, and Always Remember on it.
