11 Medium Camera Bags for Women

    • Facebook
    • Twitter

Basically, finding a perfect medium camera bag can be tricky. You don't want it too small that it can't hold additional lenses, but if it's too big, it can get heavy fast.

A lot of camera gear also tends toward the masculine side, which makes it extra hard. But I've done the research and gathered a list of bags that can fit some extra items while still looking cute and classy.

Here are some of my favorite medium camera bags for women with the pros & cons of each one. I'm sure you'll find something you love!

11 Medium Camera Bags for Women

We define medium camera bags as bigger than a lunchbox, but still the small enough that you can wear on your shoulder.

Most of these can carry a DSLR camera and a few lenses, but might not be able to carry a long zoom lens. Some of these also have tripod straps or pockets as well.

    1. Canvas Messenger Bag

    Pros:

    • Spacious enough to hold other essentials like headphones, notebooks, a water bottle, etc.
    • Can fit a small laptop or tablet alongside your camera and lenses
    • Sturdy, padded material to keep your things secure

    Cons:

    • No designated strap or pocket for your tripod

    2. Crossbody Leather Camera Bag

    Pros:

    • Removable padded interior case protects standard DSLR and small accessories
    • Multiple zippered, flap, and slip pockets for other daily essentials
    • Can be carried by the top handle or worn crossbody or as a shoulder bag
    • A good medium-sized camera bag, not too big or small

    Cons:

    • Side pockets don't stretch which limits what you can fit inside them

    3. Leather Purse Camera Bag

    Pros:

    • Fits standard DSLR with lens and small accessories
    • Padded dividers that can be removed if you want to use the bag as a purse in the future
    • Can be carried by the top handles, worn over the shoulder, or worn as a crossbody bag

    Cons:

    • It doesn't fit large extra lenses

    4. Mosiso Camera Backpack

    Pros:

    • Back compartment for a 16" laptop and front compartments for camera and lenses
    • 2 side pockets for a tripod, water bottle, or umbrella
    • 1 hidden, anti-theft zippered pocket for your important items

    Cons:

    • According to some reviewers, the bag was larger than expected, so keep that in mind if you don't want a huge bag

    5. Anti-Theft Camera Backpack

    Pros:

    • Password padlock on zipper for anti-theft protection
    • Main compartment divided into 2 parts to separate the camera and other essentials
    • Can easily fit camera, laptop, notebooks, water bottle, and more
    • USB charging port included

    Cons:

    • Some of the pockets inside have no zippers, so accessories could slide out in your bag

    6. Kelly Moore Woodstock Bag

    Pros:

    • The bag has nineteen different pockets of varying size!
    • Fits a tablet or laptop up to 15"
    • Holds a pro camera and 2-3 lenses

    Cons:

    • No straps or pockets for your tripod

    7. Simple Gray Camera Backpack

    Pros:

    • Backpack has a drawer-like lower compartment for your camera and gear
    • Upper compartment designed to fit clothes, an iPad, or other equipment
    • Made from water-resistant material that also comes in dark gray

    Cons:

    • One reviewer noted it was difficult to fit their 15" laptop

    8. Blue Canvas Messenger Bag with Buckles

    Pros:

    • Spacious enough to hold other essentials like headphones, notebooks, a water bottle, etc.
    • Can fit a small laptop or tablet alongside your camera and lenses
    • Sturdy, padded material to keep your things secure

    Cons:

    • No designated strap or pocket to carry a tripod

    9. JoTotes Gracie Bag

This is the bag I used when I first got a new camera! I love that it looked like a pretty, feminine purse, but still kept my gear safe and secure.

Here's my full review of this medium camera bag, with more pictures of the pockets and interior.

    Pros:

    • Real leather exterior with soft cotton interior
    • Protective foam inside and metal feet on the bottom to keep bag sturdy
    • Seven pockets that give you plenty of space for you camera, gear, and everyday essentials

    Cons:

    • No designated pocket or space for tripod or water bottle

    10. GoGroove DSLR Camera Backpack

    Pros:

    • Adjustable interior dividers to help separate extra lenses or gear
    • An additional padded compartment that can fit a small laptop or tablet
    • Lots of zippered pockets
    • Backpacks are great medium camera bags, because they can fit a lot in a small footprint

    Cons:

    • A small percentage of reviewers have stated the stitching in the straps isn't durable long-term

    11. Kamrette Lyra Camera Backpack

    Pros:

    • Designed to carry your camera body, a lens up to 8 inches long, and 2-3 additional lenses
    • 3 additional zip pockets in front and four slip pockets
    • The rear compartment can fit a 16" laptop

    Cons:

    • Side pockets are not large enough for extra items like a tripod or water bottle

Looking for a camera bag can feel impossible sometimes, but the right bag is worth the search.
